Busch Gardens Announces their new 2023 coaster!

When I first heard that Busch Gardens Williamsburg was opening a new coaster next year I didnt want to get my hopes up to much. I remembered hearing that Pantheon, their newest coaster that just opened this year, was supposed to open 2021 and was dissapointed when I waited all season only for it not to open at all.

Then my friend, who checks facebook MUCH more often than I do, showed me that the Busch Gardens account had shared a trailer for their new coaster!

Darkoster: Escape the Storm, is set to open in the spring of 2023 as a new indoor attraction taking over the space that was once occupied by Curse of Darkastle.

I'm personally VERY excited for this, not only are we getting a new ride in the castle that's been empty since 2018, but its continuing the lore they built with Darkastle!

Personally I'm not expecting it to be AS themed as Darkastle was, granted I dont know how you'd match the 4D ride with the massive ride screens that Darkastle had anyway, but I am very excited to see what they do come up with, and if it takes the themeing crown from Verbolten

I'll be happy if they throw me a bone and reference the werewolves at all, they were my favorite part of Darkastle.

Enough about the themeing though, this coaster is looking to also be unique in Virginia! This will be the first straddle seated coaster in Virginia, and most likely my first experience with one when it opens!

It is a family coaster so don't expect to many thrills with it, its max speed will be 36mph. It's still a launch coaster though so I'm sure it'll be thrilling enough!

(And honestly as long as theres airconditioning in the castle I wont really be complaining about anything anyway.)
